Expert commenting on specialist data on the hole “Soyuz”

Expert comments on the data of specialists on the hole

Astronaut works in open space

Ivan Moiseyev, the scientific director of the Institute for Space Policy, said that the absence of any traces of a hole on the meteorite layer in the Soyuz MS-09 does not mean that no one has tried to drill from outside.

Moysev told the RIA Novosti news agency that he was not sure whether the astronauts Oleg Kononenko and Sergey Prokopiev, when they went into open space to see the hole from the outside of the vehicle and take samples from it, would help to determine the cause of the hole.

“No matter what they do, they will not find anything, because visual detection will allow them to see the hole in the hole from the outside,” he said.

The two astronauts went into open space on December 12 and took samples of the hole, which will be returned to Earth on Dec. 20.
