The bright blue comet was spotted from various angles, making its way across the sky at a distance of 12 million kilometers from Earth.

The spacecraft's instrument picked up the glow from the nucleus of the comet, a current like a cloud of gas emitted by the comet as it passed through the solar system.

The comet's “46P / Wirtane” approach allowed astronomers to study it in detail based on the capabilities of the telescope and Chandra X-ray Observatory of the US space agency NASA.

The Hubble Wide Field Camera (WFC3) allowed scientists to investigate the constituents of the comet and how to change the gases within it when exposed to sunlight and radiation.
